Marrying Man, The (1991)

Based on a true story, The Marrying Man tells the story of Charlie Pearl (Baldwin) and Vicki Anderson (Basinger), he a rich playboy, she a Vegas lounge singer and girlfriend of gangster Bugsy Siegel. They love, fight, marry. Four times. Funny one-liners, great cast, fantastic songs and an authentic recreation of the glamorous late 1940's, early 1950's era are all propelled by real life husband and wife team Baldwin and Basinger's brilliant screen chemistry. The couple fell in love on the setand it shows. Their portrayal of a couple whose sizzling heat fuels a love-hate relationship which takes over and nearly destroys their lives is backed up and given light relief by the perfectly chosen comedic supporting cast. Fisher Stevens and Paul Reiser feature as some of Charlie's struggling Hollywood friends, Reiser giving a wry narrative throughout which aids in the films continuity and light tone. Armand Assante, as Bugsy Siegel with an ironic sense of humor, delivers a refreshing and different slant on the usual movie gangsters. Robert Logia is fantastic and funny as the aggressive and egotistical movie studio owner and Elisabeth Shue is terrific as his neurotic and spoiled daughter, engaged to Charlie, but who is no match for sexy songstress Vicki. Basinger who did all of her own singing, gives a knock-out performance as the talented and ambitious singer. Her deliverysexy, suggestive, vibrantis perfect. In a sleazy Vegas casino, Charlie and his friends' first sight of her back-lit, curvy figure and the sound of her throbbing voice causes the stuttered and dazed reaction of: "she has great ....... phrasing" to which Reiser's character replies, "Oh yeah, the first thing I noticed when we walked in here was her phrasing". The cast, atmosphere and the on-screen heat with her leading man all make the film an enjoyable whole. But it is Basinger's transformation of Vicki's whole persona and performing style, from initially ambitious, brassy and slightly trashy, to sophisticated, worldly, and mellow in a perfectly honed performance that really helps make the film memorable.

Let me start off by saying that my 5-star rating is for Kim Basinger's singing of these fantastic old songs. The DVD itself boasts no real extra features, so it deserves 3 stars at best. Toward the end of the film, I experience a few glitches, but that may simply be with my dvd player--you may not have the same problem with yours.

The film is charming. It is predictable, but still an enjoyable experience, thanks mainly to Kim Basinger. (By the way, I was not a fan of her at all until I saw her in this film.) Her performances of songs like "Let's Do It" and "Honeysuckle Rose" may be considered too sexy by purists, but considering modern sensibilities and the fact that she is supposed to be singing in a Las Vegas club in the fifties (the decade of Marilyn Monroe), I think her approach is perfectly fine. Her "stage presence" during these numbers is scintillating--I would love to see her perform music like this live in concert. The musical arrangements are fantastic also.

I had never heard of this movie & some how found it on Amazon & read some reviews & figured what the heck, for less than $5.00 I can get Kim Basinger in blu-ray. She is so nice to look at. It's a fun movie to watch, if you like Kim, or for you ladies, Alec. I can't compare it to the dvd quality as I have never seen it in this format, but the blu-ray is pretty nice & the price is right too. I say if you like Kim or Alec go ahead & get this. You will probably like it too. I can't believe how really good Kim sang either. Really unexpectedly nice. Did I mention how NICE Kim looked !!!!!!!

This adaptation of Neil Simon's play will never be a classic film, but if you can get it cheap, I recommend it highly. There are worse romantic comedies you could waste your time on, but this one is nostalgic and genuinely glamourous fun. It's a great escape from all the current situation settings in similar films.

Charlie Pearl (Alec Baldwin), multi-millionaire, is about to marry movie honcho Lou Horner's (Robert Loggia) daughter until his friends take him to Vegas for a bachelor party, and he falls for club singer Vickie Anderson (Kim Basinger), who also happens to be Bugsy Siegel's (Armand Assante) girlfriend. It's a wild ride between a millionaire playboy and a fast nightclub singer that involves 4 marriages and 3 divorces. It won't change your world, but it certainly is fun, the costumes are excellent, and the soundtrack is among my favorites. Check it out.

All in all it has the makings to be great. I am just happy this amazing movie is finally getting the attention it deserves!

In my opinion, this is one of the best teen movies ever made. While the main characters seem somewhat stereotypical at first, all of the characters (well, almost all of them) break down the barriers of high school cliquedom and discover something about themselves and their high school classmates. The whole movie centers around a party on graduation night. Preston (Ethan Embry) has carried a torch for Amanda (the gorgeous Jennifer Love Hewitt) ever since meeting her as a freshman. After four years, Amanda has just been dumped by her jock boyfriend, and Preston is convinced that fate will finally bring him and Amanda together. A series of "signs" convinces him to tell Amanda how he feels about her--this task becomes pretty complicated as the night progresses. Meanwhile, there are other wonderful subplots. Seth Green is hilarious as a jive-talking, would-be playboy determined to find a girl at the party; he ends up stuck in a bathroom with a girl he was good friends with before he tried to join the cool crowd in high school. The obligatory nerd goes to the party with a plan to humiliate Amanda's ex-boyfriend for having picked on him for years, and he ends up becoming the life of the party. His drunken performance of GNR's "Paradise City" is not to be missed. A lot of things happen throughout the movie, but the only person who really comes out a loser is Amanda's ex-boyfriend.

As a former nerd, I enjoyed seeing the self-absorbed jock get humiliated, the nerd become temporarily popular, and the shy guy stand a chance of getting the girl. I'm sure some people think the idea of carrying around a letter to a girl for four years is weird or obsessive, but I can attest to the fact that carrying around a secret longing for a person runs deep within the soul and cannot be expected to disappear in such a short time as four years. One feature of this movie I really liked was seeing a yearbook-like biography of each character at the beginning--complete with high school activities, future plans, and a favorite quote.

The entire cast is terrific, and I really enjoy this movie every time I watch it. Seth Green, as I have mentioned, is downright hilarious. Hewitt does a wonderful job portraying a prom queen who wants to find someone who will see her for what kind of person she is rather than judge her solely on her looks. Although the movie may sound like typical teenaged silliness to some, the characters do succeed in disproving the often perceived shallowness of the young. If you believe or want to believe in fate, this movie can also be an uplifting experience. As an added bonus, Smash Mouth's video for "Can't Get Enough of You Baby" featuring a dangerously stunning Jennifer Love Hewitt is also included with the movie.

Bashed by critics, audience viewers have given this movie cult status, and deservedly so. Good fun performances by everyone but of course the standout is Jennifer Love Hewitt who plays the most popular girl at school Amanda Becket. The story goes something like this. Since it's their last day of school Preston Meyers (Ethan Embry) sees this as his last chance to tell the girl of his dreams (Becket) just how much he loves her. While his best friend Denise Fleming (Lauren Ambrose) has doubts about it. Telling him, what if she doesn't like you? Ever since Amanda's (Hewitt) break up with popular jock Mike Dexter (Peter Facinelli) Becket is the most sought at girl at the party. Now each person has their own agenda at this party. For instance Embry (Preston) wants to tell Hewitt he loves her, and William Lichter (Charlie Korsmo) has his own agenda. William has been humiliated his entire life by Dexter (Facinelli). And feels tonight at the party is his perfect way of getting back at him for all the years of misery Dexter put him through. But that's not the only thing going on at this party. Everyone wants to get "lucky". And no one does more than Kenny Fisher (Seth Green), who in my opinion is the funniest character in the movie! With so much going on you can tell this will turn out to be a funny fast paced teen comedy that I'm sure all teens and even adults will enjoy. Teens might think Seth Green gives the best performance, he certainly is the funniest, and might just want to watch the movie for him. But I think Hewitt is the highlight of the movie. Some might like to take notice to the brief cameos seen in the movie by Melissa Joan Hart, Jerry O' Connell, and a voice over by Liv Tyler. Here's a good clean, and funny teen comedy all will enjoy.

I bought this video on a whim, mainly because I like Seth Green, but not expecting too much of it. I was totally blown away. This is the best movie I've seen for ages! It's like a "Sixteen Candles" for the 90's (which was a great movie till they changed the soundtrack). Ethan Embry (the saving grace of "Empire Records") was sweet and convincing; Charlie Korsmo was wonderful as the supergeek (making a nice comeback after disappearing for like 8 years). Lauren Ambrose is a junior Janeane Garofalo and although she's a new one on me, I think she's got talent. Seth Green, as always, stole the show as the white wannabe-black kid, and is excellent in everything he does (even if I'll always think of him as Chuckie Miller). The one weak link for me was Jennifer Love Hewitt. If the role called for a dull, wishy-washy, easy on the eye but not on the stomach kind of girl, then she did very well. I wasn't a fan of hers before and this did nothing to convert me. Still, the film had me laughing hysterically from start to finish, and I'd recommend it to anyone, brat pack fan or not.

This Is one of the best feelgood films i have seen in a long time. It was one of those films with the tense feeling all the way through. with the will they, wont they, moments all through out. if you liked ten things i hate about you, fast times at ridgemont high and films of a similar ilk then this is for you It is about a boy who has loved the same girl for 4 years. when she is finally single he makes a pact with himself to show his true feelings. Along with many other plot lines and a spectacular cast (especially Seth Green In his Best role to date) this is a must see movie. see it before it is too late.

¡Three Amigos! (2011)

"The Three Amigos!" is good fun, a rare comedy that plays well with the whole family. Slapstick, wit, funny songs, sight gags, all tongue-in-cheek transcends generation.

The Plot?

Three actors get fired by their production company and try to make it on their own. Their first gig in Mexico turns out to be more than act. Much to their surprise, they were hired to protect a town from a thieving band of bad guys, lead by El Guapo, an unusual bandito with a strong vocabulary.

As great movie comedy goes, "The Three Amigos!" might be overlooked. It doesn't have the constant laughter that might be expected. Why? It has an intelligent plot.

While calling this a serious drama would be forgetting that Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, and Martin Short are the stars. Steve Martin, though, in the last 20 years, has veered away from total silliness, except when the humor is organic to the plot.

Of all the scenes I found funny, one with Martin Short hanging from a piñata, when El Guapo comments how the Three Amigos keep appearing, like they are falling from the sky. As expected, Short falls. Predicted, and still funny.

There are nuances of Monty Python in here, and some fantastic parody of silent films. Each of three stars purposefully overplays his role is makeup reminiscent of the great Buster Keaton. Overall, the balance between plot and humor, over-the-top and subdued humor works in grand fashion.

I fully recommend "The Three Amigos!"

This is Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, and Martin Short in their comedic prime, playing recently fired silent movie actors forced to earn money by ridding a small Mexican village of its evil oppressor. They assume it is nothing more than a Public Appearance gig, but the enemy is quite real!

This movie is kinda goofy, kinda silly, and all funny. Each of the three comics gets his turn to shine in memorable gags, and there are too many of those gags to list here. Watch for a pre-"Saturday Night Live" Phil Hartman and John Lovitz in an early scene. Funniest bits: Short and Martin running out of water in the desert, Short telling his story of being "discovered" by Lillian Gish's sister, summoning the Invisible Swordsman, Chase trying not to blow his cover in front of the main villain and his henchmen, and Steve Martin's character learning that the supposedly "staged gunfight" is actually real.

This is, without a doubt, one of the greatest movies ever made. Not only are the comedic situations hilarious, but a classic 'heros save the day' situation touches your heart while tickleing your funnybone. I could never understand why the critics all miss the joke while countless others share my absolute love of this cult classic. It ranks up there with the best of the Saturday Night Live alumni celluloid offerings.

I love this movie, but this transfer is horrible. It was taken from a movie print instead of an original copy of the movie, so it's grainy, has serious stability issues, and is generally not pretty. Not only that, but it's letterboxed on the disc, so if you have a 16x9 television, you'll be watching the movie with black bars on all sides of the screen, with the actual picture only taking up 50% of your TV's screen.

It's a shame that after all of these years that this movie still hasn't been transfered to DVD or Blu-ray properly. It's terrible that such a classic film has to be represented so poorly.

This movie is a real riot! The characters, dialogues and situations are simply laugh-out-loud funny.

I am not sure this movie is getting it's' due credit, but at $5 this is simple a steal. The replay value alone is worth so much more! Get it!

P.S. The actors metioned as the main cast in this specific product are not really the principals (those are, of course, Steve Martin, Chevy Chase and Martin Short) although they do appear in the movie. I think Amazon was just trying to differentiate this dvd from the other one that is out of print but that still appears in the catalogue.

Still, Amazon should do something about this so as not to confuse people.

The Inbetweeners (2012)

do you know when you watch a film which has came from an established tv series and it is almost certainly a let down? Well the inbetweeners film does not do this. The story follows the 4 main characters on their last 'lads' holiday together where they demonstrate all of the profanities and vulgar ideas in which they are famous for. this film will have you laughing and is a great way to end the series.

This movie was a step in the right direction from the show in my opinion. As the boys grow older,so does some of the sassy and inappropriate things they do and say. 30 seconds in and I was already laughing loudly. The best part of it all is every single character is played by the same actor/actress, that's sometimes rare in a Tv to movie situation so its definitely worth buying and/or renting. You'll most likely cry from laughing so hard. :)

I am a huge Inbetweeners fan and was quite upset that the movie was not shown in my area when it was released this year. To make it worse, my extended family in England was quoting how incredibly funny the movie was. I received this movie for Christmas and enjoyed viewing it on Christmas Day. It was as funny as I had expected it to be! The comedic timing of all of the actors is priceless and I loved every minute of the movie. I would recommend the movie to any fan of the series!

After watching the entire series on netflix i was hoping that the movie would not fall short. And boy it didn't. British TV is so different from American TV they spend more time on the writing and character development and less on production value. That is why one easily falls in love with the characters. They are so funny. Your typical teeneagers just wanting to drink and get laid. I absolutly love the series and the movie was just as good.

NO SPOILERS:

The freedom allowed on UK TV didn't result in the R-rated movie upping the raunchiness quotient. Frankly, given both the 3.5m (Pounds) production budget and time that had past since the end of the series, I expected an over the top effort. Other than the change in location (Malia, Crete), there was nothing to distinguish the 97-minutes movie from any 4 of the TV episodes.

There is nothing inherently wrong with the movie. Will (Simon Bird), as the moderator and perfect wit, shines.

A definite watch, though I wouldn't pay much more than the cost of admission.

Ocean's 11 (50th Anniversary) (2010)

Simply put, this film has not looked better since it played in a theater.

Warner Brothers did a fantastic job with the transfer and it looks even better than the version that's played HBO and Cinemax off and on over the past few years.

If you're a fan of this film, you OWE IT TO YOURSELF to purchase this disc, even if it means you need to purchase a Blu-ray player as well!

Note the commentary is the same one from the DVD editions, but is still entertaining, and there are a few new extras on this disc.

I'll be forever grateful that WB decided to issue this catalog title on BD.

Sinatra and his best friends at their best. A good plot and the transfer to Blu ray is terrific. Nevertheless the sound is 1.0 and not AC3 or DTS in my copy. I think that today technology makes miracles with the sound. Anyway Sinatra is good in any format

The original Ocean's Eleven has been sneered at in recent years, mainly by people who like the remake. In fact the original is an interesting and entertaining movie that is still well worth watching, particulaly by fans of the main stars.

The central story is about a group of ex 82nd Airborne servicemen attempting to rob five big Las Vegas casinos and how their ingenious plan goes astray. The narrative is augmented by historically fascinating shots of Las Vegas as it was circa 1960. Especially interesting for fans of a bygone era in show business are the bill boards announcing which stars are appearing at which casino. That delightful and mostly forgotten Canadian singer Gisele Mackenzie is prominently proclaimed.

The Blu-ray presentation of the movie is superb and cannot be praised too highly. Watching this BRD via a projector on a ten foot wide screen was as good as seeing the movie in a cinema. I recommend this Blu-ray disc to anyone who enjoys the movie, particularly if they have a projector.

Frank Sinatra's involvement with OCEAN'S ELEVEN began when a Las Vegas gas station attendant handed Sinatra his screenplay. Frank's enthusiasm for the story carried over to his buddies and "Ocean's 11" became the first of several Rat Pack movies. A solid cast, several cameos, a tight script and breezy ad-lib performances by its principals make this crime heist tale great fun. Seeing Frank, Dean and Sammy in their prime and hearing Davis's vocal on the movie's theme adds to the enjoyment.

SYNOPSIS--

Eleven buddies (led by Danny Ocean, aka Sinatra) plan and pull off a theft at five Las Vegas casinos simultaneously. They get away with their haul, but are later confronted by an ex-gangster who's figured out what occurred and is demanding half the take.

Shirley MacLaine's impromptu appearance as a tipsy gal is a highlight; George Raft (who was a personal friend of Vegas pioneer Bugsy Siegel) portrays a casino owner and Red Skelton appears as himself. Richard Boone is the voice of an unseen minister; TV quiz show announcer George Fenneman can be heard in a phone conversation with an interrogating sheriff. Watch for one-time cowboy star Hoot Gibson in his last screen appearance, as a roadblock deputy.

The Rat Pack's next adventure was SERGEANTS 3, a 1962 remake of "Gunga Din." Frank and Dean also show up at the end of Bob Hope and Bing Crosby's last road picture, THE ROAD TO HONG KONG (1961).

Roadie (1980)

There is a lot of silly rubbish about this film scattered all over the Internet. Most of the time when I read a review of "Roadie" I wonder if the critic even bothered to see the film before they wrote about it (see above). Unlike most other critics, I have seen Roadie, and I promise--with certain reservations--that it is a very funny and very entertaining movie.

As an older man with a nervous disposition who has enough trouble sitting through many new movies once, The ultimate tribute I can give this great "on the road" rock'n'roll saga is that I watched it numerous times when it was on cable in 1981. Since then, I have watched it several dozens of times on VHS, and now that it's on DVD, I have watched it several times again. You can put a lot of mileage on this road movie. In a day when you build whole relationship with and around movies in your personal collection, that kind of stamina in a movie is critical.

The film has a rock'n'roll backdrop--a backdrop we rarely see from the workingman's eye the way we do here. There are no star turns in the film, at least none in the late 1970's early 1980's tradition. Rock is shown as hard work, and generally the product of blue collar hands (a view I agree with). The movie gives us what amounts to real-world views of several 70's favorites (Meatloaf, Alice Cooper, Blondie, etc.).

The movie has a great premise, the howling self-reliant "Everything Works If You Let It" theme. It also enjoys a background soundtrack that fires on all twelve cylinders. But what keeps me watching the film is that it is really funny in an honest, straight-forward way that we have enjoyed far too seldom since Hollywood started grinding out its cookie-cutter "farces" in the wake of "Airplane." The dual surprises of the film are the really solid performances put in by Alice Cooper and Meatloaf in their respective roles as rock star and roadie. I am unqualified in my admiration of this movie, but I will tightly qualify the people to whom I would suggest the film. This is a "cult" movie in the most real sense of the word and anyone who is made nervous by rock music, farce that is outside of the "Scary Movie"/"Naked Gun" mainstream, or three-hundred pound leading men (Meatloaf) should avoid this movie at all costs. Also, there is a certain good ol' boy mentality at work here that will not play for some parts of the audience. But to the core audience of the film, these are not qualifications, they are recommendations. The thing I am saddest about is that the movie's soundtrack is no longer available. The soundtrack was worth having simply for the long and messy "Brainlock" which plays during one of the few really funny car chases in the history of film.

Of course Meatloaf is the bomb, and you want to believe in the reality of his character, the astoundingly competent Travis W. Redfish. Sadly, there is no Redfish in the real world, but you'll wish there was, and there probably should be.

Art Carney plays Daddy Redfish, and steals every scene in which he appears. Alice Cooper plays himself (as always) and is great. In fact, all the walk-ons and cameos are amazing.

But the amazing presence in the film is Kaki Hunter's portrayal of Lola Bouillabaisse. The Lola character is a train wreck, a disaster area, a four alarm fire. She is our worst nightmare on a blind date, but the screenplay needs her to be that disaster. If Lola had been played by a different kind of female, or had she been played as an attractive girl, the part, and probably the film would have been ruined. Hunter actually holds her own against her mighty co-stars in the film. She is amazing.

Note: a movie that is equally funny and from the same time period, and sharing roughly the same theme is Roger Corman's "Rock and Roll High School."

Whoa-boy. ROADIE isn't a five-star flick by any stretch of the imagination (save that of starry-eyed fan-atics, who're no doubt clicking No with some vehemence right about now). Every one of the three stars are worthy, however, and I snapped up this DVD with all haste because the film IS a campy, rollicking, fun little tale. Meat Loaf is a charmer as Travis W. Redfish, cuddly and sweet, inventive and wise, a memorable character in even his head-butting, brain-locking, ox-like other side. Kaki Hunter is less memorable as Lola Bouilliabase, though often just as sweetly naive as anyone who's had a brush with fan obsession (y'all CAN click Yes later on and change your vote, if you didn't know). Completing the Redfish clan, Art Carney is a hoot and Rhonda Bates purely delightful. Watch for Kurkwood Smith in a bit part.

A no-frills DVD package. The feature cleaned up nicely, but the original trailer shows wear. The Dolby 5.1 audio was a surprise, though, and plays well front and back.

ROADIE is a guilty pleasure, but such camp was fun sharing with unsuspecting friends -we laughed 'til we cried. Chair dancing, the distinctive rattle of a beer truck, narcs snorting Tide. Some odd remembrances, too, of the brouhaha over cancelling concerts for energy conservation, often believed an excuse for censorship. Oddly enough, there's little or no swearing in ROADIE; Lola's quest for deflowering and a little substance abuse (and perhaps the close-up of Alice Cooper's codpiece) earned the PG rating.

"Everything works if you let it," a worthy sentiment.

This is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. A great cast: Meatloaf, Khaki Hunter, Art Carney, Jos Spano, Alice Cooper, Hank Williams Jr., Roy Orbison, Don Cornelius, etc. Great musical performances by Blondie, duet of Hank Jr. & Roy, Blondie, Asleep At The Wheel. Some of the greatest lines of all time. Story gets a little trippy but makes sense and one of the all-time strangest endings. If you are a 70s rock and roll fan, this is the movie for you.

From the ambulatory phone booth to a candlelight dinner with The Snake, this just tickled my funny bone. Art Carney was great, and I loved Meat Loaf as the star-crossed lover. Yes, it's cheap, yes, it's campy, but I have been looking for the damn thing for like 20 years, and I am SO happy they finally re-released it. For years all I had was the soundtrack, which is quite goodlook at all the musicians in the darn movie! Ooohhh, I'm drivin' my life away....

For it's time, Roadie is a great movie in itself. it's funny, sexy, and filled with alot of classic rock. Great cammeo's by Hank Williams Jr. and Roy Orbison to name a couple. Jr. sings Outlaw Women at a bar Redfish (Meat Loaf) set's up at.

The story is Hank Williams Jr.'s road crew breaks down on the side of a Texas road. A pretty woman hitching a ride steps out and catch's Redfish's eye. Two numb skulls diving the truck has no clue what's wrong. When Redfish offers to help, Lola (the pretty woman) talks him in to helping set up Hank Willims Jr. Soon after that Redfish becomes the best at what he does or what he has became a (roadie) but all Redfish is after is Lola and all Lola is ater is Alice Cooper.

I sew this movie on T.V. a long time ago and liked it alot and I was wantting to see it again. Still a great movie

You Again (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo) (2010)

This flick was cute in the previews and delivers even more than it promised in the full-length film.

After years of healing success and maturity post high-school, Marnie aka MOO, finds out that her brother is marrying her nastiest high-school tormentor. With no time to process the information or put on full body armor, Marnie is thrown into the situation just days before the wedding. Joanna, oddly, doesn't even remember Marnie the queen-of-geeks and has gone on to become a perfect blend of Martha Stewart and Mother Teresa. Or maybe not!

Chick-flicky, yes. But its more about friends, enemies and the painful art of growing-up. The movie contains a few cheesy moments and a few underdeveloped relationships because the cast of characters is huge. But, it's respectful of friendship, forgiveness, character and marriage. Jamie Lee Curtis and Sigourney Weaver are delightfully amusing and seem to enjoy every bit of working together in this film. There is a scene at the end of the movie that is hilarious and worth every bit of cheese and I can't say one more thing about it because it would be a big spoiler. The film is clean and would be a terrific pre-teen movie choice.

Comparable movies are Mean Girls, Monster-In-Law, Bride Wars, Win a Date with Tad Hamilton and Confessions of a Shopaholic. If you liked any of the above or any of the You Again cast of characters you should enjoy this film. This is one I'll be adding to my DVD collection.

I see a lot of movies and one of the movies that really surprised me the most is YOU AGAIN. It is so well written, so well acted and just left a smile on my face throughout the entire movie because it was so hilarious -yet it was also so heartfelt -these characters are really likeable people and the situations they get into is just so well done. I highly recommend this movie. Hands down the best comedy of the year -and by the way -it got a cinemascore (the people who first saw the movie) gave it an A and if you look on boxofficeguru.com, people also gave it an A.

I saw "YOU Again" when it was in theaters and I have to say it was one of the funniest movies I have seen in a long time. And it is not just a chick flick! I'm a guy in my 20's and me and my friends all enjoyed it. If you like physical comedy, you'll love this movie. Jamie Lee Curtis and Sigourney Weaver are top notch. So, if you want to laugh, buy this DVD.

You Again, finds humor in all of the expected places and even more! The movie centers around Marni Olivia Olsen (Kristen Bell), who as a previous high school "loser" becomes a beautiful, successful VP out of school. Always antagonized by the "popular girl", aka Jo-Jo (Odette Yustman), Joanna as she now goes by; Marni has suddenly found herself thrown into an unexpected dilemma. Her brother Will is engaged to marry Joanna. As they first meet face-to-face, Joanna seems to have no recollection of Marni. But as days tick on, the obviously frustrated Marni cannot stand to see her brother fall for her act and devises a plan to show Joanna's true colors. Hilariousness ensues and with ode to the 80's, Hall & Oats and other assorted music, the event goes on without a hitch. A movie to enjoy with the whole family. Not one inappropriate situation to shield young eyes from. Loved it! Betty White, Sigourney Weaver and Jamie Lee Curtis are awesome as the older versions of high school meanness.

After reading some of the reviews slaughtering this campy flick I had to comment. First it has such a great cast I had to see it. Sigourney Weaver's acting was the best. Jamie Lee Curtis who is normally amazing was a bit overboard but that's probably the fault of the some of the writing. Nevertheless, my young tween and teen and I had fun watching it. It speaks to the pressures of being popular and getting your self worth trampled by your peers. And, it does a decent job treating revenge, repentance and forgiveness. It was often funny and the ending scene was hilarious. It's just the sort of movie Disney used to churn out in the 60's and 70's.
