The Jane Austen Book Club (2007)

The Jane Austen Book ClubYou don't have to be a fan of Jane Austen's novels to enjoy Robin Swicord's "The Jane Austen Book Club", but after spending 106 delightful minutes with some of the most likable people you'll ever meet, you may want to grab "Pride and Prejudice", and start a club of your own!

This IS another film where the women are all beautiful, and the men, hot, but, to Swicord's credit (working from Karen Joy Fowler's terrific novel), she establishes each character with a humanity that transcends appearance. Working mom, Syl (Amy Brenneman), has it all, with a great job as a librarian, a radiant, if klutzy, lesbian daughter (Maggie Grace), and a devoted husband (Jimmy Smits)...until he announces he was cheating on her, and asks for a divorce. Oft-married, ever-optimistic Bernadette (Kathy Baker) decides to create an Austen club to provide emotional support for both Syl and their best friend, ever-single dog trainer/matchmaker Jocelyn (Maria Bello), who is grieving over the loss of a beloved dog. Bernadette meets young, uptight French teacher/Austen devotee Prudie (Emily Blunt), who has her own baggage, with an inattentive husband (Marc Blucas), an ex-hippie mom (Lynn Redgrave), and a sexy student (Kevin Zegers), whose attentions are sparking her barely-repressed lust. The older woman quickly railroads Prudie into her plan, finalizing a book club that will be "all-women, all-Austen", focusing on a different Austen novel, each month. Ah, but then Jocelyn meets handsome young computer geek, Grigg (Hugh Dancy), and decides to pair Syl with him, using the club...so a male member joins in the mix, and the fun really begins...

With each major character a 21st century variation of an Austen one, the story unfolds around the monthly meeting/book discussions, allowing the entire cast opportunities to shine. Will Syl recover from her failed marriage? Will Prudie give in, and have her forbidden tryst? Will Jocelyn ever figure out Grigg loves HER? Swicord succeeds in making every subplot both involving, and entertaining!

Great bonus features make "The Jane Austen Book Club" even better. The Austen prototypes of each character are explained, there is a terrific biography of the writer (far better than the one offered in "Becoming Jane"), and an affectionate behind-the-scenes look at the production all truly expand the enjoyment of the film.

Is this a 'chick flick'? Certainly! But with it's well-written male roles, I prefer to think of this as an ideal 'date' movie, and an experience guys can enjoy, too!

"All Austen, all the time" never sounded better!

Five women and one man decide to start a book club, reading the works of Jane Austen. Bernadette (Baker), the organizer of the club, is a woman looking to add one more to her many marriages. Jocelyn (Bello) is single and happy with her dogs. Sylvia (Brenneman) is in a failing marriage to Daniel (Smits). Allegra (Grace) is their lesbian daughter. Prudie (Blunt) is unhappily married, and attracted to one of her students. Lastly, there is Grigg (Dancy), a science fiction fan who is in the club because he is interested in Jocelyn. Their lives all contain elements that echo Jane Austen's stories, so their choice of reading is appropriate.

"The Jane Austen Book Club" is a female bonding movie that will also appeal to fans of Jane Austen. The acting is capable, but nothing outstanding. There is a little of everything relationship-wise here, and all the stories are handled pretty well. Jocelyn and Grigg's story is probably the most appealing though. To the story's credit, knowledge of Jane Austen isn't necessary, but it helps. In all fairness, the title of the film is going to draw in the appropriate audience, and they will probably enjoy it.

Warning: This is a major "Chick Flick", no testosterone required.

Chick flick or not, the '07 release `The Jane Austen Book Club' is a delightful film exploring the possible application of the six books comprising the "Jane Austen Bible" into the everyday lives and loves of five contemporary women. What was supposed to serve as a carefree diversion from the constant angst of male female relationships becomes the epicenter of their emotional venting and the Gospel of Jane the rule by which all relationships are judged.

The cast displays an infectious chemistry, the storyline solid and consistent from beginning to end and the dialogue is believable, containing a number of quotable lines that will stay with you. `The Jane Austen Book Club' is a terrific film for the females audience. As far as the guys are concerned, come on and give it a try, you know you have to give in once in a while. This one is not as painful as most within this genre.

This film opens with a montage of modern day, mundane technological snags, which sets the stage for busy and varied lives among working people. I thought this was a brilliant way to begin, to show just what kind of people form a book club and how random it all really is. The cohesiveness of these seemingly mismatched individuals, a free-spirited, serial bride, a recently discarded wife and her lesbian daughter, a socially awkward, pretentious French teacher, a control-freak dog breeder and a bicycling techno-geek (albeit a very CUTE techno-geek) centers around the six novels of Jane Austen. This story really isn't about the work of Jane Austen, but rather, it's about the people of the club coming from many different directions to form a believable bond. Sure it has some Jane Austen-esque subplots, but so many modern stories do and I, for one, never grow tired of them.

Very enjoyable, well-cast and well-acted film, and I recommend it to anyone who likes a good story of group dynamics--regardless of whether or not you liked or disliked the book.

"The Jane Austen Book Club" (TJABC) was a 2004 novel by author Karen Joy Fowler. I acquired the novel last spring and relished the thought of reading a contemporary version of Austen's romances, with each character and each chapter tying into one of Austen's novels. A clever premise, some interesting characters....but I found the overall effort to be a tad on the lackluster side and kept picking the book up, and putting it down before eventually managing to end it all.

Robin Swicord tackled the job of getting this book to film; and it opened to very little fanfare last summer. As the members of the book club, the cast is a director's dream. It's always a joy to see Amy Brenneman (Of the TV Show, "Judging Amy", on the screen, and we've had too little of her in the world of film. Brenneman is devastated and devastating as an unwilling divorcee, Sylvia, who was married to Daniel (Jimmy Smits in an unfamiliar role) who has fallen in love with the other woman. Maggie Grace (Shannon from the TV Show, "Lost") is suitably cast as Allegra, Sylvia and Daniel's grown daughter. Much of Fowler's book centered on the oddities of Allegra...thankfully, the movie only touches on them.

Kathy Baker plays flamboyant, much-divorced Bernadette and does so with a satirical air. Maria Bello is Jocelyn, a dog breeder who is afraid of commitment. Bello is no surprise; she's done a credible job with every one of her big screen roles -here we are caught up in her draw towards Grigg, the only male member of the club, although initially she attempts clumsily to "matchmake him" to Sylvia.

The outstanding turns belong to Hugh Dancy, as Grigg. He's a science fiction fan who accidentally meets Joceyln and accepts her invitation to join a book club reading a genre he has no idea about. He's subtly charming and has a way of 21st century hero about him; he and Bello are drawn like moths to flame. Also a stand out is Emily Blunt, so good in whatever she brings to the screen, as Prudie. Prudie's character is audacious -an obsessive French teacher married to the wrong man, she's eager to find romance in any way she can.

Tying in Austen's novels and characters to the ensemble is easy, and a little tedious, but by film's end, you're glad you made the attempt. TJABC is kind of a "little film that could"...not excellent by any stretch of the imagination, but still a worthy contemporary treatise on Austen's themes.

Set in Sacramento, the surroundings are lovely and bracing, and the DVD has a full complement of extras like deleted scenes, the casting dilemma, and a lively conversation about the filming between Swicord, the producers, Maggie Grace and Hugh Dancy.

For once, a film that improves upon the material it was derived from. Worth a viewing!

First Sunday (2008)

First SundayI knew that the movie had to be great cause Ice Cube was in it and I liked his movies. Until I saw "First Sunday" I had no idea who Katt Williams or Tracy Morgan are (Unbelievable) But now after watching it I know that Ice Cube, Katt Williams, and Tracy Morgan make a perfect trio and they should make more movies together. You will not stop laughing, promise. But this is just my opinion so watch it. "First Sunday" is worth every penny!

This movie mixes comedy with drama to generally good effect. This movie is very funny and very entertaining. It will have you lauphing throughout the whole movie.

Ice Cube stars as a struggling young father who's life revolves around his young son. Although he has somewhat of a rocky relationship with the boy's mother, he is a mainstay in his child's life. Until his ex tells him that unless she can come up with 17K to maintain her beauty salon, she'll have to move to Atlanta. Determined not to let his son leave the city of Baltimore, Cube teams up with childhood friend LeeJohn (Tracy Morgan) to rob an inner city church....but when things don't go exactly as planned, the two instead find themselves being ministered to by the church's congregation (Loretta Devine, Katt Williams).....and everyone discovers that an even bigger rat may be hiding amidst the holier than thou.

Another respectable product by Cube....reinforcing his credibility as an actor/producer. Comedic relief is abundant thanks to Katt Williams and Tracy Morgan...I laughed out loud thoughout. If you're looking for something fun and light with an undercurrent of seriousness, you've found it. Grab the popcorn and enjoy.

A very appealing cast is left with little to work with in "First Sunday," a manufactured comedy whose script fails to rise to the level of its actors. Desperate for some quick cash, Durell and LeeJohn come up with a scheme to break into a local church and carry off the fund earmarked for construction of a new building. Unfortunately, this seemingly simple robbery quickly turns into a complicated hostage situation when a dozen or so of the most prominent church members unexpectedly show up on the scene.

"First Friday" does elicit a few hearty laughs, due, in large part, to its game cast and the occasional funny line scattered in and amongst the numerous clunkers. Ice Cube effectively plays straight man to Tracy Morgan`s endearingly bumbling sidekick, and they, together with the other actors, help to comprise a fine comic ensemble. The problem lies in a screenplay which often goes for the obvious joke over something truly original or clever, and which pours on the syrup to alarming proportions near the end just to ensure the movie its status as a morally upright, "feel-good" comedy.

It's a harmless enough little diversion if you have some time to kill, but the company is far more appetizing than what it is they`re dishing up.

Durell Washington (Ice Cube) loves his son and he doesn't want him to move to Atlanta. The only way the two of them will be able to stay together is if he can come up with a large sum of money. It's not his idea to rob a church, but he goes along with it and all kinds of problems arise.

First Sunday has good actors and a few good messages. I don't think this comedy would have been very funny, though, if it wasn't for Katt Williams. The movie became enjoyable when his character, Ricky, was introduced. I always appreciate a good belly laugh and Katt's quick-witted comebacks were hilarious! I don't think I'd be interested in his raw standup comedy, but he was great in this movie. He's so good at what he does, I wouldn't be surprised if he adlibbed the entire time.

The Spirit Is Willing (1967)

The Spirit Is WillingThis is not a movie for small children but for teens and up it's good, solid family entertainment. Sid Caesar and Vera Miles have ghost problems and their son Steve (Barry Gordon) is right in the middle playing straight man to a bunch of ghosts and taking all the hits for things going wrong.

Not the best William Castle film but it had its moments. There was more Jill Townsend in this than in the "Seven-percent Solution" but was a fairly juvenile film. I liked it but my wife was bored and left the room.

Hall Pass (Extended Cut) (2012)

Hall PassThe movie itself, you can judge.. It has its moments, but is no Me, Myself, and Irene IMO...

There is an extended cut of the film (Enlarged Edition) which runs approx 6 minutes longer and has an additional 8 scenes. Sadly, other than one in particular.. the scenes are nothing too special nor do they change the film drastically. The movie is a mixture of comedy and seriousness (more towards the end). Sometimes the serious scenes outweigh the funny ones..

The additional scenes that are added in the extended version are listed below:

1) 30 min. Day One: The guys pick up Gary from the house. Apparently, his wife doesn't know about their plans because he climbs out of the first floor window. He suddenly falls down and limps the rest of the way to the car..

2) 43 min. Day Three: Rick and Fred finally start to put some effort in their pick-up attempts and are standing in front of a hip club. At first, the doorman doesn't want to let them in, however, they bribe him with 50 dollars. Still, he thinks that he might lose his job if he lets them go inside. The camera then cuts to Rick, Fred, and the doorman (who just lost his job) as they all eat a hot dog. =)

3) 47 min. Day Five: Rick has lunch and leaves a message on his wife's voicemail inbox. He says that he misses her and the kids. Then, the waitress brings him a free dessert made by the cookee. Rick looks around for her but suddenly, the cookee says that the dessert was meant for the other blond guy the cookee apparently has the hots for. Rick looks sad.

Cut to the office. Rick tries some online dating but again doesn't really succeed. Fred thinks that it's not the best idea to use a photo that shows Rick with his wife and family. Suddenly, Fred comes up with an idea that is to backfire later on. Apparently, they can't make strange women like them enough to sleep with them, so they should try to hit on women they already know.

Subsequently he visits one of his old friends Missy and brings her some Greek food to break the ice; he does that because he rememered that her last name had a Greek origin. Too bad that it was her ex-husband's name. Fred explains her how his vacation week from his marraige works and hopes to be able to sleep with Missy. However, she's not really satisfied with his clumsy hit on and slams the door in front of him. Fred is frustrated and doesn't understand why she did this. Not too funny..

4) 67 min. Day 6: Rick tries to impress Leigh (the hot blonde from the coffee shop) in the club by putting a huge snake around his neck. After a quick cut we see that this wasn't the best idea. This is the funniest additional scene, hands down..

5) 68 min. Day 6: Rick dances on the bar without wearing a shirt. In the extended version he also breaks a glass.

6) 69 min. Day 6: Rick's bill in the Club adds up to 1400 dollars because the drinks are unbelievably expensive. He tries to skip out on the tab but doesn't succeed.

7) 69 min. Day 6: Rick shouts to the bartender that he shouldn't dare to put a tip on their bill.

8) 69 min. Day 6: During the scene transition the theatrical version instead shows the women's motel.

All and all, nothing too much added that makes me want to just buy the combo pack with extended version..If you end up with just the theatrical version, I'd say your just fine and are not missing much. Hope it's been helpful..Enjoy

This movie was HILARIOUS!!!! You don't watch a movie like this thinking you're going to be mentally moved or enlightened, you watch a movie like this to be entertained. I was very entertained!!! However, if you aren't comfortable with the human anatomy and don't find jokes that are crass funny, this is not the movie for you. This movie was everything I wanted it to be and more!! I haven't watched a movie that's made me laugh as hard as I did while watching this movie in a looooong time (would I watch it with my parents? NO WAY!!!)

You have to already appreciate this type of humor. if you loved Old School, Wedding Crashers, that sort of comedy, then you may appreciate this. its more grown up, dealing with marriage and the what if's but it his home. Comedy is often funny because 95 percent of it is true. Don't expect a five star comedy, expect a great way to spend Saturday night at home with your honey and just crack of drawing similarities that you truly try to ignore. it was fun.

Some people complained about the male genitalia being shown, but it was part of a joke, a disgusting joke, but still women have to see topless girls in almost every film this is our turn to take one for the team. All in all the movie is funny. I'd recommend watching it atleast once. Ending is pretty hilarious and Alexandra Daddario needs more roles, she is stunning.

I wasn't expecting much due to some reviews. But if you don't like this movie, buy some humor. Amazon has some specials on that on Friday Gold Deals. Definitely a redbox flick. No need to buy this on dvd or especially bluray unless you like special features or something like that. Movie wasn't the funniest, but had good parts, it slowed down near the end, but again, its a renter in my opinion.

The Benchwarmers (2006)

The BenchwarmersProduced by Adam Sandler's company, Happy Madison, this movie has a lot of elements you would come to expect from many of Adam Sandler's past comedic escapades, such as toilet humor and slapstick elements, and "Benchwarmers" makes great use of these and other elements that have delighted fans for several years. Rob Schneider, a recurring minor character actor from several Sandler films, steps up to the plate in this latest baseball comedy, which follows a growing trend of movies glorifying the low people on the social totem pole. I personally have always enjoyed seeing movies that do this, and "Benchwarmers" is no exception. Unless you are totally opposed to this type of humor, "Benchwarmers" is sure to hit a home run with your funny bone! Older children and teens particularly will find this movie a treat, but I would recommend this movie to anyone, regardless of age (with the exception of very young children), who has ever found entertainment value in Adam Sandler or the three featured actors herein!

Just as is the case with all Happy Madison-produced movies, this movie comes equipped with a crappy plot. However, also as usual, the movie manages to be funny and entertaining anyway. The characters and the humorous dialogue are what make the movie worth seeing. Rob Schneider, David Spade, Jon Heder, Nick Swardson and Jon Lovitz are all very funny in their respective roles.

My favorite characters were Richie (Spade) and his brother Howie (Swardson), who suffers from agoraphobia and does not leave the house. He fears the sun, in particular, as he believes that it is bad and that it wants to burn him. Richie finally tricks Howie into leaving the house by telling him that there is an escaped killer running loose in their town who is hell-bent on killing people named Howie. Before this, however, we also get to see Howie go to battle with 2 cute little Girl Scouts.

There are some very funny one-liners delivered in this movie. I found myself laughing out loud more than a few times, usually at something said by David Spade's character.

Jon Lovitz, Craig Kilborn, Tim Meadows and a few others do well with their supporting roles. Lovitz is particularly funny as a nerd-turned-billionaire who spitballs the idea of "The Benchwarmers" team.

I would recommend seeing the movie, but I wouldn't put it on the same level as Spade's past movies, Napoleon Dynamite or any older Sandler movies. I would place it just on the level with a Rob Schneider movie, like Deuce Bigalow. Worth watching, then decide whether or not you want to own it.

Buy The Benchwarmers (2006) Now

I wasn't all that enthused about watching The Benchwarmers, but the film had me laughing from the very start and really surprised me with its home run of an ending, as it featured a really effective twist on an otherwise wholly predictable story. Underdog movies like this are a dime a dozen, but The Benchwarmers is really one of the better ones. With Saturday Night Live alums every where you look (and a little helping hand from Adam Sandler as co-executive producer), this movie has the comedy covered. Sure, it's decidedly juvenile in nature, but guess what? The film's main target audience is juveniles. Whether we like it or not, growing up involves a lot of fart jokes, underwear incidents, and name-calling. The comedy is actually one of the most realistic aspects of the film, if you ask me.

So here's the deal. After watching some bully athletes torment three kids for daring to play some baseball on "their" public field, Gus (Rob Schneider) decides to drag out the old mitt and play a little ball with two of his really dysfunctional buddies, Richie (David Spade), who sports a 3 Stooges-inspired haircut and works at the local video store, and Clark (Jon Heder), a really dumb paper-delivery guy. When the snotty ball players show up again, Gus challenges them to a game and he, Richie, and Clark actually win, thanks to Gus' baseball prowess. Other challenges roll in, and before you know it local nerd-turned-billionaire Mel (Jon Lovitz) puts together a statewide round robin tournament, with the winner earning a fancy new stadium for his town. All of those who have suffered at the hands of bullies, young and old alike, start turning up to cheer on their "Benchwarmers" 3-man baseball team. Now you might think that, in the end, something happens to Gus and his severely baseball-challenged teammates somehow manage to win the day for all of the nerds and geeks supporting them. You might think that, but you'd be wrong sort of, anyway. The way the ending comes off is no less corny than the rest of the movie, but it is rather delightfully different and serves to reinforce the message of the whole story.

It's sort of a shame that the movie has to be PG-13, since even younger kids will get a big kick out of it, but I don't know that I would have done anything differently (well, a little less projectile vomiting, maybe). Kids can be as crude as they are cruel (and I can pretty much assure you that your little eight-year-old angel will understand every crude gag in this film). I'm just thankful the beef stew thing wasn't around when I was a kid if you don't know what I'm talking about, just nod your head and move on because I can assure you it's nothing you would want to have stored in your personal memory banks of childhood. As for the other stuff like pulling someone else's pants down, taking a shot in the groin, losing control of a bat and hitting all sorts of things with it it doesn't matter how old these gags are, they're still funny, dadgum it (when they happen to someone else, at least). Some of the jokes do get stretched a little too far, but I think I laughed at every one of them.

The film also has a few interesting cameos. I was thrilled when my all-time favorite player, Reggie Jackson, showed up and he brought lots of comedy with him as he tried to turn the utterly hopeless Richie and Clark into ball players. Molly Sims and Erinn Bartlett add just the right touch of eye candy (even though there's no way, in any universe, that the salad girl would fall for David Spade's mop headed character). Still, it's nice to dream. It's also nice to laugh, and you should be doing plenty of that as you watch this film play out.

After seeing the previews for this movie, I thought that I would never EVER watch this movie. It looked sooooo bad on the prewviews. But I rented it after seen that Nick Swardson (Grandma's Boy) wrote it. I've now learned that anything Nick touches turns to comedy gold. The Benchwarmers is a surprising hit. Rob Schneider and his band of misfit losers put on a great show. The film is full of great slapstick and nerd jokes. But be warned this movie isn't for everyone. It's extremely immature (like myself). Boogers, farts, guys getting hit in between the legs, etc. After thinking this was going to be the biggest joke of a movie I ended up laughing my butt off through the whole thing.

It's hard to find a fun movie for my son, but this fit the bill. Stupid, physical comedy and gross-out scenes were just what he and his friends needed for a great night in front of the TV. David Spade sports a fab Prince-Valient haircut and for once, Rob Schneider is the more "normal" of the gang. A lot of fun cameos can keep adults happy for awhile too. The nerds triumph over the jock-bullies so the message isn't too bad either.

Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995)

Dilwale Dulhaniya Le JayengeOK, I'm an Indian and like many other indians I too love this movie and so you might think this is an biased review. But far from it,as even though its been 10 years since this movie was released ,no hindi movie has since come close to matching this ones greatness. I'm sure Indian readers wont be needing this review, so I will write this review for the Western readers.

For starters all hindi movies are musicals, i.e they involve song and dance numbers. I do not know why, but it has always been this way. So if you like musicals you will fall in love with this movie as the music is top notch and excellently choreographed and blends in well very well with the situation.

This is a love story to begin with and a very good one, that too. Though the storyline is familiar, boy falls in love with a girl, girl's dad is the pain in the butt, boy tries hard to win the girl and finally wins over the girl :), what sets this movie apart is the sizzling chemistry between SRK and Kajol and honest performances from the entire star cast. And I guess what appealed to the masses is that unlike in other movies, the hero does NOT run away with the girl nor does he use violence as means to justify his love for the girl. So then how does he win the girl ? Well for that you will have to watch the entire movie. So come and fall in love with the movie.

Note: Hindi with English subtitles.

`Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' (translation: "The brave heart will take the bride") was released in `95 and is unquestionably one of the most beloved Indian films ever to come out of Bollywood. This Yash Raj comedy, romance, drama stars the incomparable Shah Rukh Khan and the beautiful Kajol as two young British Hindustani's, Raj and Simran, who meet during a one month European vacation. Things do not start out well for the two, but slowly the ongoing banter of dislike and ridicule between them transforms into friendship and finally so much more. Unfortunately Simran is leaving for India soon after their return to England where she will fulfill her Father's wishes and be wed to a stranger in a pre-arranged marriage. Will Raj follow her to the Motherland in hopes of stopping the wedding and claiming Simran for himself? If he does who will win out in the end, Love or Tradition?

I guess 1.1 billion Indians can't be wrong. Shah Rukh and Kajol are perfectly matched as foils and lovers, they are absolutely marvelous together. Watch and see two of the biggest stars in the world in top form, you'll love it too!

This is such a great film! My husband and I caught it when it was shown on TCM's Bollywood night last year. If you love musicals and are curious about seeing a Bollywood movie, you should make this the first one you watch. The acting is cheesey at times but when there are heartfelt emotional scenes, the acting is top notch. Its easy to see that this was (and still is) a hit. The movie is a little on the long side but when you get into the movie, the time flies and is worth the time you spent watching it.

I'm not Hindustani. But this movie and most of the Bollywood movies make me so jealous that I'm not! I LOVE HINDI FILMS...(or BOLLYWOOD movies!) If you haven't seen any..you are in for a treat. The dancing, the singing, the costumes, the actors...marvelous!

Sometimes the style may be a bit hard for Americans to take....because they are often not "realistic". But I LOVE the way they highlight love and family. So many of the joys of life and the virtues that make life worth living...these are in these movies! Bollywood people really know how to make movies. Hollywood movies could only dream of coming EVEN close!

The actors are handsome and absolutely entrancing...and the actresses are the most beautiful in the world! The costumes are gorgeous...makes one wish we could dress that way!

The whole family will LOVE this movie...clean and fun! Worth the work of reading the subtitles! But...be careful..these movies are addictive!

This movie has two of the most amazing of their stars...when they were just starting out...they get even better as they mature! Dil is heart...Braveheart Carries Away the Bride.

Don't miss one of the best of Bollywood!

On the dvd, in the special features section, one of the promo spots shows several of the movie's stars telling which song is their favorite. None of them mentioned my favorite song which shows how many excellent songs there are in the movie.

Raj is a carefree young man that enjoys a good time and seems to excel at everything. He's also good at manipulating others as we first see him manipulate his father and then others.

The first half of the movie is a slapstick comedy while he and Simran travel Europe and fall for each other. In the second half, there is more drama but with comic moments. Raj follows Simran & her family to Punjab and tries surreptitiously to win over her family in the 16 days before the wedding while imposing on the groom's family's hospitality. His plan is working until the wedding is moved forward a few days, and it isn't pretty when his plans are found out.

I adore this movie and have played it over and over. Unfortunately, you can't purchase the ringtone in the U.S.

The Graves / Zombies of Mass Destruction (Double Feature) (2011)

The Graves / Zombies of Mass DestructionIm gonna be honest..."The Graves" was a bit of a disappointment but "Zombies of Mass Destruction" actually wasnt a bad movie. ZMD is your typical horror comedy in the same vein as "Shaun of the Dead" and it scores. This movie isnt PC, people get called names that some might call offensive. Luckily not only did I not care, I laughed. Now, as for "The Graves", it was a movie good enough for the scy fy channel or chiller but not pay per view. If somebody told me college kids made this movie I might be ok with it...maybe. Now, im not saying it was a bad movie, it was just too cliche for me, it had everything down to the strong female character from the overused formula for slasher movies. So just to make it clear, I would purchase this movie for ZMD alone, if you liked movies like "Return of the Living Dead", "Shaun of the Dead" and "Brain Dead" then pick this up and enjoy a cheap laugh.
